PITTI Filati is the first Fair in Europe to show Trends and Collections
of raw materials for the new season.
At the end of January we witnessed the presentation of previews
for the Spring/Summer 019.
The S/S019 season is RAW ! As a Reaction to the excess of perfection of the superficial and inhumane effect that takes us far from the essence of things. RAW is the most Honest and Spontaneous path that leaves more Freedom to do and to be. Give more space to Imagination and Feeling.
PITTI presents the new Yarn collections together with
Trends translated into Knitwear :-)
RAW ATTITUDE//
The Theme is inspired by the Art that in a few strong movements instinctively arrives to the Essence of the form.
Raw yarns, such as Linen, Hemp and Cotton.
Stitches in Various Gauges, imitate Wicker and Wood.
The Knitwear are in pieces of Color, Patchwork or in Reverse.
Everything is often Overpainted or reworked with Rough Embroideries.
The Colors are Strong and Pasty, like those made with oil or wax.
RAW SUMMER//
The "News" comes as a Summer Storm, almost unexpected but providential. It is a Dramatic but Romantic image that Reset everything and prepare for a new Start.
Transparent Viscous glossy and opaque,
or Linen Gauze in Gauge 12 and 14.
Decorations with fine Fluctuating Yarns, Dyed or Airbrushed Shades,
random Overlapping, Ripples or clothes Exploded and reworked.
Natural Yarns in Gauge 5 and 3,
imitate the grass or are Torn by the wind.
Delicate Colors and Pastel Gray like the summer sky. Grayish blue like a stormy cloud and interrupted by a bright Orange Sun.
RAW SHELTER//
Modeling the Raw Earth to give shape to reality is a Primitive human gesture but also Modern and of great interest for Design.
This is the theme of Constructivism, with Clean Lines and
surfaces rich in Textures.
Natural yarns, Vegetable interventions such as Straw, but also Polyester yarns for relief effects or glossy and matt.
All the Gauges from 12 to the Handmade.
Textures like bricks, Reverse knit patterns, Rustic textures,
inlaid Geometric jacquards, constructive Plissè.
Voluminous knitwear combined with Transparent effects.
Spread rubbery, materic or digital for geometric effects
or textures that make the Materials Innovative.
Delicate Natural Colors and Earthy Colors.
RAW DATA//
Real and imaginary Data are the "material" that today has the greatest social and economic impact. In this theme they are collected in a more Raw, less technological and more Humane way.
With Vintage taste, a bit Hippie, a bit Hacker!
Prevalence of Natural fibers such as Cotton, Plane or Multicolor.
Gauges 12 for stretch, wide use of Gauge 5 and also Handmade
for the most raw effects.
Jacquards, Prints and Decorations are inspired by the Virtual world but interpreted with a Vintage taste, futuristic but not industrial Geometries.
Bright and Fun Colors, backlit by computer light.
RAW MASCULINE//
A Theme is dedicated to the Male figure. He is not a latin lover but a Confident and Comforting Man.
Its elegance is expressed by the Modern Male Portrait in Art.
Prevalence of Woolen Yarns used for spring knitwear. Classic Braided and Ribbed Stitches in Gauges 7 and 5, are proposed in Geometric Patchwork.
Stripes or plain colors in 12 gauge are reinterpreted with Prints,
Over-Dyed and Scratched Treatments inspired by modern art.
The Argyle is made with external fluttuant yarns.
Classic Masculine Colors, Strong and Spicy.
RAW FEMININE//
The Woman rejects the role imposed by social conventions and manifests a Free Femininity. A Feminist Vision of Fashion that frees itself from forced superstructures.
Hybrid Yarns, between Silk, technical Nylon and plastic. Prevalence of Gauges 14 and 12, for Veiled and Stretch effects
that follow the body.
Gauges 7 and Crochet for Punched and Hyperfeminine details.
Knitwear typical of Underwear, details and applications that ironically recall the Female genitals as a New Nude, graphics and prints show Protest Slogans, the new women's fashion is Intellectual.
Pure colors like White and Flesh combined with strong colors such as the protest slogans, that is Black, Red and Fuchsia.
