The Era of the Web, Social, Istagram, Emotions and of the "Selfie"
is an OVERLOADED IMAGE BOOM!
that actively stimulates our perception of the world.
This interesting subject has been chosen and interpreted by many Artists who have exhibited their Works during the Festival of FOTOGRAFIA EUROPEA.
In the suggestive Location of the CHIOSTRI di SAN PIETRO, Joan Fontcuberta has presented an interesting Project:
LES NOUVEAUX ENCYCLOPEDISTES .
The Artists Neo-Encyclopedists have the task of re-ordering and enlightening the great chaos of images of our time.
...Cataloging also creates a "New Encyclopedia" of image overload that comes from Google...
...and in this particular interpretation the Artist has created many small books of Images of common people on Google,
divided into classic everyday life themes such as "pizza", "selfie" and more....
Suggestive and Surreal this installation created by Roberto Pellegrinuzzi and named ME'MOIRES !
The Artist using 275.000 photos of everyday life, which correspond to the mass of images produced by a digital camera during his life.
This overload of images is like a Cloud above us!
From too many Images to Non-Image .... enigmatic and refined this Work created by eliminating all the images and using only their Support !
Now we move to PALAZZO a MOSTO, where Alessandro Calabrese,
through the Google search method, overlapping images that the web randomly chooses from its original photographs, creating a new context
Original and interesting , the Works of Teresa Giannico; which, using banal photographs found on the Web, realizes plastics
and re-photographs the Tromp l'Oeil created.
In this way the Artist gives life to a new funny picture that is not only documentary !
They are great as WALLPAPER, the Works of Kurt Caviezel, obtained by taking hundreds of photographs with WebCam.
The effect is a real visual sensory overload!
And finally, at the Location of VIA SECCHI 11,
an Exhibition truly original and surprising!
The Artist Giorgio Di Noto has presented an exhibition all white?
..No!... the Photographic Exhibition is visible only in the dark
with Ultraviolet Rays! :D
ICEBERG is the title of this Exhibition that represents the submerged images of the Internet. The DeepWeb images destined to lose visibility from the search engine. So, at the exhibition, we can see these Photographs simply by entering the Dark Room with an UV lamp ! ;-)
FOTOGRAFIA EUROPEA is a great international Festival held every year in the small Italian town of Reggio Emilia.
